    I bought and sold a vehicle to Shift over the weekend and only found out about this referral program after the fact. I called customer service and provided Matt Reed’s email address. A few hours later I received 2 separate emails with $100 each.

    I emailed Matt and he replied immediately asking my Venmo. He sent within minutes.

    Update Feb 2022. I recently received a fedex package to sign off on a few DMV documents that were apparently not completed correctly. I signed them and sent them back via their prepaid envelop. Still pretty painless.

    Just sold a car through shift and it was honestly such a smooth process after trying and giving up on the private market. They also offered much higher than any other online dealer. The mechanical inspection took about a day and the sale was finalized real quick. Inspection and paperwork took about an hour.

    If anyone is interested in using a referral code, we will each get $100 amazon gift card by using my name and email. BUT… cc me in your email to shift & email me at the address below and I will coordinate to give you half of the $100 that I receive once it goes through (venmo or amazon gift card).       Matt Reed is true to his word. I bought and purchased a vehicle at Shift over the weekend. I found this thread after the fact, I called Shift customer service and provided Matt’s name and email address. A few hours later I got an two emails with $100 Visa card each.

      I emailed Matt and he replied right away asking for my Venmo. He received $200 and sent me $100.

      He could have easily ignored my email. I want to pay it forward, please use his referral code!!

    I sold my car this month and it was a relatively straightforward process. After looking at various online used car dealers (like Vroom, Carvana, Carmax, KBB), Shift offered the highest price (between $400-$4000+ more). I learnt this later (doesn’t apply here), but if you get a better offer from one of the other dealers, Shift said they would match the offer. I booked an evaluation at my home and a Shift representative showed up within the given 2 hour window. Unfortunately, the appointment took way longer than expected since the iPad broke…but ordinarily, the evaluation should be done in about 20 mins. They didn’t seem to care too much about small scratches/dings, but I think giving it a nice clean before helped with first impressions. They didn’t end up deducting much – just $65/rim that was scratched up. After signing all the paper work, I got an email from Shift asking me to provide my banking info for the transfer if it passed the mechanical inspection (they have 48 hours to perform a mechanical inspection and they have clauses in the agreement that they can use to back out). My car passed the inspection and I was notified that they initiated the transfer in ~ 24 hours from the time I sold it. I also got the extra $200 for selling on my first evaluation.

    Sold two cars to Shift recently(May and July 2021). The service is more efficient and convenient comparing to the trade with Shift in 2018. The referral bonus still works but you have to ask the evaluation agent to do it. Some of them said they don’t know about it, just ask them to check with the service team. Then they will ask you the person’s name and email address. I received mine Amazon gift card within one month.
    One tip: Don’t need to get your car super clean ( I spent $40 to get it cleaned). More important is to have a good conversation with the agent. I had a scratch in the car the back team asked the agent to deduct it but he didn’t. It went through fine next day.

    Just sold my car to Shift last week and everything went smoothly for the most part. They rescheduled on me because they were running late but they came out the next day. The guy who came out to inspect was very nice. We received our payment today so it took 3 business days. If anyone needs a referral for the additional $100 Amazon gift card you can use mine.
