How Pinch Works

1. You need to connect your bank account and upload your lease agreement.

2. You then pay your rent as normal and upload a photo to Pinch, so that they can verify your payment.

3. Pinch then reports your rent payments to TransUnion (other credit bureaus optional), which can help build your credit history and boost your credit score.

Requirements To Join Pinch

In order to join Pinch, you must provide your personal information, your bank account information, a copy of your lease, and your proof of rental payment for at least 1 month.

Your lease and/or proof of rental payment will usually be verified within 7 business days.

There is no need to inform your landlord that you are participating in Pinch, as your payments will remain unchanged.

How To Provide Proof of Rent Payments

Pinch accepts 3 different kinds of proof of rental payment: a picture of your money order receipt; a picture of your cashed check from your bank statement; or a picture of your online payment portal receipt.

You need to send your proof of rental payment to their email address at hello@pinchrent.com.

You can also provide your past rent payments to Pinch, provided that they are from the same lease and you have proof of payment.

Reporting Rent Payments to Credit Bureaus

Pinch is an approved data furnisher to all 3 credit bureaus, including TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian Rentbureau.

By default, Pinch will report your rental payments to TransUnion only.

If you also want to report your rent payments to Equifax and Experian Rentbureau, Pinch will be required to mail your rent check.

While reporting on-time rent payments to credit bureaus may not have a huge impact on your credit score, it may help tenants who are currently unscorable to build a credit score, and it may possibly help anyone else increase your credit score overall.

Pinch $10 Refer-A-Friend Rewards Program

Anyone who joins Pinch can participate in their referral program to earn a $10 bonus when you refer a new user who mails their first rent.

The Pinch referral program only provides a $10 bonus to the referrer (current user), so the referee (new user) does not receive any type of incentive to enter a referral code when joining Pinch.

To refer your friends to Pinch, just visit the “Refer a friend and get $10” link under the About section within the Pinch app, where you can access your unique referral code to share with potential new Pinch users.

When your friends enter your referral code at sign-up, you’ll get $10 when they mail their rent.

There is no limit to how much you can earn for referring your friends to join and use Pinch.

However, the Pinch referral terms do not specify exactly how the $10 bonus will be fulfilled (I will update this article when further details become available).
